Obituary of Lynda Hicks

August 10, 1948 - November 6, 2021

73 Years

With heavy hearts but many happy memories, we say farewell to Lyn (Mum, Nan, Nannabear) who; after a two-year battle with cancer passed away at her home on the November 6, 2021 with family by her side.

 

Lyn has left us to be with her parents, brother, sister, son, and grandson. She will be greatly missed and lovingly remembered by her husband, children and their spouses, beloved grandchildren, great-grandchildren, brother, sisters, and her many friends.

 

Lynda touched the lives of many through her friendships and volunteer work including Block Parent Coordinator, Victim Service Advocate, Food Bank Founder, many school programs, and church activities. In her professional work “Mrs Hicks” was a positive influence in early childhood development programs, being among the first to practice inclusivity in her classroom helping break barriers for generations to come.

 

Lynda was a Christian, an avid knitter, loved to read, and really appreciated poetry, penning a fair number of verses of her own to share with her friends.

 

In keeping with Lynda's wishes, no funeral services will be held, friends and family are encouraged to get together for a cup of tea in her memory.

 

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Sask Valley Hospital Foundation Inc., Box 93, Rosthern, SK S0K 3R0 or a charity of your choice.

 

Cremation arrangements entrusted to Funk's Funeral Home, Rosthern, SK.
