Lynda and I lived on the same street in Berkeley, Glos. I only really got to meet/know her a little in Redwater, Alberta, Canada. I lived in Edmonton, Alberta. My mum and auntie were visiting from UK. Auntie knew the family/Lynda quite well and we had a lovely visit with her and Brian in Redwater. Was just looking for her on the internet and sadly found this obit. I went to school/same class as her brother, Lex. Lynda was lovely and gave so much.

So sad to hear my best friend is no longer just a phone call away. I met Linda age 11 on our first day at senior school. We attended youth clubs and shared a love of music and dancing through our teenage years.
Linda met Brian at my sister's engagement party and we stayed close as we became young wives and mother's.
We spent a lovely holiday with Lyn and Brian in Wales and enjoyed many visits from Lyn over the years when she returned to the UK to visit family.
Sending love to Brian and their children and families.
Goodnight Lyn my friend and confidant. You are loved and missed
Morag xx

Linda was my oldest sister. She told me that when my sister Carole ( deceased) and I were little she used to buy us matching outfits. I like many of you say will miss her phone conversations across the miles. I regret not going to Canada to visit but busy lives and families get in the way. Linda did a lot of good for a lot of families and God will have a special job for her. Thinking of Brian and family. Taken far to soon. RIP Linda. God bless Polly xx

I was fortunate enough to have Lynda as a very dear friend for over fifty years. As young mothers in Wales we shared our toddlers, then in Redwater our children and later, our teenagers.
She loved the beauty of Wales but was also passionate about her new home in Canada. When we visited she made sure we saw everything, from the wonders of the Rocky Mountains to the beautiful Northern Lights. She took us horse riding, canoeing, skiing, shopping, showing off the shopping malls - we didn’t have any in Wales at that time, and even took us to a wrestling match! Our Christmas in Canada remains one of our happiest memories. She was so proud of her new life and wanted to share it all with us.
As time went by and visiting became more difficult, we kept in touch by phone. I was so glad to have visited Canada and seen it in the lovely summer months and in the bitter cold winter so that I could relate to what she was describing. We chatted for hours so that she never really felt that far away.
There were so many changes in fifty years and we shared them all, our sorrows and our joys. Sometimes we just chatted about the weather and other times she might read me one of her poems. It was just as if she’d dropped in for a coffee as she had done all those years ago.
Lynda was a devoted wife and mother and a loyal, caring friend. Her family was her life but she had enough love for us all. I feel very privileged to have known her. I will miss her voice but she will always be with me.
Deepest condolences to Brian and all the family at this very sad time. She was so proud of you all.

Mrs. Hicks was a close family friend and my mom’s best friend for years. A lovely lady who, I remember when I was young, amazed me because she wore dresses and could ride a bicycle! Also interested in how everyone was doing and always supportive with a witty sense of humour.
She will be missed by all.
My thoughts are with her family.
Miss Tammy

Lynda had such a beautiful soul. I met Lynda as a young woman & I must say she had a huge impact on my life. Her & Brian opened their home to me many times, even hosting my baby girl's christening. I always felt welcome & loved. I remember Lynda would tell her oldest grand-daughter, that tattoos were okay if they were pretty like auntie's. (she even came to a tattoo shop with me once). Lynda would say I was another one of her "adopted" daughters & of course she spoiled my daughter too. It was an honor to release balloons at Brynley's service. Over the years, sometimes months passed without contact between us but when we did speak we picked right back up again catching up on all the family news. Lynda could really talk to anyone about anything.
Rest in peace Lynda you were truly a blessing.

I had the honor of being one of Lynda's friend's for 40 plus years and what a friend she was, always there for me when I needed her and I tried to be there for her as well. Since their move to Saskatchewan we had to become phone friends and that line was kept busy, always a laugh or two and sometimes more serious talks. When Lynda passed she took a piece of my heart and all the love that I had for her with her. My thoughts and love go out to Brian and the family. Lynda rest in peace and let the love surround you. You didn't need to go to heaven to be a Angel, you already were one.
