Sheena and family...We just learned of Dave's passing and are both shocked and deeply saddened. What a wonderful man he was! We could not have asked for better neighbours. You folks were among the first to welcome us to Haslam Way and we never forgot your kindness. However, I (Dwight) had a heck of a time trying to get our lawn even close to the perfection of yours, and I often thought Dave and George must have snuck out in the middle of the night to groom their lawns with scissors. Our hearts are broken knowing Dave will no longer be in your lives, but he will be in your hearts and memories forever. Hugs. Dwight & Sandi Buchholz

Dave was a kind hearted, joyful, wonderful person. Always ready with a smile, and encouraging word when needed. I worked with him at SK Canola years ago. I work elsewhere now, but he always would stop for a quick chat whenever we bumped into each other in the halls. He will be deeply missed by so many. My heartfelt condolences go out to his family and those whose lives he touched.

It was the summer of 69 (apologies to Bryan Adams) and Dave had come to the farm with me. Saturday morning chores included milking our milk cow, Marje. Marje was extremely docile and loved people. I got her in the barn and the stall and fed her some hay. As i started milking her, Dave thought he would like to try it. So i gave Dave my pail partly full of milk. Dave got the three legged stool, put the pail between his legs and started milking Marje. Obviously a different touch for Marje so she gently looked around to see what was happening. Well Dave dropped the pail of milk, fell backwards off the stool and scrambled out of the stall. I remember him saying "she is going to kick me". Possibly but not likely. Dave was a good size guy and that incident always brings a smile to my face. Thanks for all the memories Dave.

Dave and I met as co-workers at Cory mine, but soon became good friends. At work, Dave was always kind, friendly, and helpful. Dave, Sheena, and I became close personal friends throughout the years and I’ll always remember the good times, and the many laughs whether it was playing cards or drinking tequila in Mexico. Dave was an exceptional man and I was so lucky to call him my friend. Our deepest sympathies to Sheena, Laura, Keith, and family.

Sask Canola is a client at the software company I work with. It was there I got to know Dave. We became friends and then also got involved in the same Investment Club. It was through both of these organizations I got to see how well liked by everyone Dave was. I was also able to enjoy his laid-back attitude and his ability to always make things just a bit more enjoyable when he was involved.
I will miss our regular cheque runs and software upgrades, having coffee and going for lunch.
We always talked about going for a round of golf, but sadly never got around to it. That will be, not only a regret of mine, but also a lesson.
My condolences to Dave's wife, family and all his friends (which I bet.... he probably had many).

Dave and I worked together at Patience Lake and during those years, I got to know the man, the loving husband, proud father and doting grandfather.
He helped me adjust to my new position with support, kind words and drives around the mine site checking on all things "business". Dave became my friend!
Sheena, Keith and Laura, know that Audrey and I are keeping you in our prayers.
A good man, husband, father and friend gone much too soon! He will leave a void in many hearts!
