Bertha "Betty" Anne Smith, age 88, passed away peacefully in the early morning hours of January 17, 2023, at the Mennonite Nursing Home, Rosthern, SK.
Third of 12 children, Betty was born on July 11, 1934 to Herman and Teena Grusing in Hilbre, MB. She was a gentle and caring lady who lived a life of true service. Her greatest desire was to seek to please the Lord till the end of her days. She and her beloved husband Roy, who preceded her in death in 2022, ministered throughout their 63 married years first in the Fiji Islands, then at Millar College of the Bible and finally with the Northern Canada Evangelical Mission. Betty was extremely hospitable and rarely did any visitor leave without having a meal or a taste of some of her excellent baked goods.
She is survived by her three sons: Dwight (Kelly), Grant (Lori), and Harvey, nine grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren, four siblings and many in-laws. Betty is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, and seven siblings.
A memorial gathering and viewing for family and close friends will be held on Saturday, January 21, 2023, at Funk's Funeral Home, Rosthern, SK.

Following the gathering, the interment will take place at Memorial Gardens Cemetery, Prince Albert, SK.
