Obituary of Caroline Lafond

August 21, 1936 - March 1, 2022

The death of Caroline Ann Lafond, age 85 years, occurred in the early morning on March 1, 2022, at Rosthern Hospital with her family by her side.

Caroline is survived by her: children, Patricia Hood; Pamela Sokol (Kaz Sokol); Russell Lafond (Beatrice); Marvin Lafond; Jennifer Lafond-Martin (Jim Martin); Darren Lafond; Tanya Humenuik (Walter); grandchildren, Tristan Hood, Elliott Sokol, Amaranta Sokol-Como (Darren Como), Travis Lafond, Rebecca Lafond-Mills (Bryton), Trent Martin, Mandy Lafond, Weylin Lafond, Talia Humenuik (Jason), Melissa Humenuik (George), Emmi Humenuik; great grandchildren, Aidyn Sokol-Como, Lochlan Humenuik, Casey Hayes-Deschamps, Hayze Ghostkeeper-Humenuik; siblings, Therese Seeseequasis, Victorine Greyeyes, Emilia Keshane, Leona Cameron, Clem Gardipy; brother-in-law Herb Seeseequasis; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and their families.

She was predeceased by her: husband of 65 years, Norman Lafond; parents, Gabriel and Mary Gardipy (nee Fleury); siblings Nancy Gardipy, Tom Gardipy Sr., Emile Gardipy, Sidney Gardipy, Raymond Gardipy, Josephine Seeseequasis, Henry Gardipy; son-in-law, Edward Hood; grandson, Lane Humenuik; brothers-in-law Harvey Cameron, Dan Keshane, Ken Seeseequasis, Alec Greyeyes; sisters-in-law Marie Gardipy, Angeline Gardipy, Delores Gardipy; nephews Lionel Gardipy, Darryl Cameron; nieces Natalie Keshane and Shirley Anderson.  

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Rev. Tuyen Vu on Wednesday, March 9, 2022, at 11:00A.M. at Blessed Sacrament Roman Catholic Parish, Duck Lake, SK. (Please wear a mask in attendance at funeral). Interment will take place at Blessed Sacrament Roman Catholic Cemetery, Duck Lake, SK.

The family would like to extend their sincere appreciation to Rev. Fr. Tuyen Vu, Dr. Melle, Dr. Little, all the nurses and support staff of Rosthern Hospital, Rosthern Ambulance, Denis Poirier, A& M Ventures gravedigging for Mom and Dad, and to Ryan and Darren of Funk’s Funeral Home for the excellent care given to Mom.
