Obituary of Jake Bueckert

We lovingly remember the life of our husband and father Jake Bueckert, born on November 12, 1954, to Frank and Margaret (Teichroeb) Bueckert in Waldheim, SK. He passed away at the age of 67 years, peacefully in his sleep after a short battle with cancer, on January 21, 2022.

Dad was baptized upon confession of his faith in June 1976.  Dad married Ruth Jean Regier on July 2, 1977, together they shared 21 wonderful years together until her passing on August 17, 1998.

In May 1999, he met and found love again.  He married Rose Martens on October 2, 1999, and they enjoyed 22 years together.

Dad enjoyed welding and fabricating, making lumber with his sawmill, and spending quality time with family.  Dad operated the grader for the Laird RM for 12 years, which he really enjoyed.  In the wintertime, Dad loved plowing snow for neighbors and friends.

Left to mourn dad is his loving wife, Rose Bueckert; sons, Trevor Bueckert, Corney Bueckert and his children Justina, Aaron, Mathew, Nathan, and Levi; daughters Jeannie (Gord) Fry and their children Amy and Leland, Joann (Kelly) Giesbrecht and their children Zeke, Shanille, and Hailey, and Margaret (Brian) Balman; and daughter-in-law, Kathy Bueckert.  His mom Margaret Hamm; mother-in-law, Sarah Martens; brothers, Ben (Gloria) Bueckert and Peter (Susan) Bueckert; sisters, Anna (John) Bueckert, Margaret (Dave) Wollf, and Susie (Jake) Hamm; brothers-in-law, George (Carol) Bueckert and Ed (Bernice) Martens; numerous brothers and sisters-in-law of the Regier family; step siblings (Hamm family); numerous nieces and nephews; and relatives and friends.

Dad was predeceased by his father, Frank Bueckert; first wife, Ruth Bueckert; sister, Lena Bueckert; stepdad, Herman Hamm; and father-in-law, Henry P. Martens.

Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, January 27, 2022, at 2:00 P.M. at Rheinland Mennonite Church, Rheinland, SK.  A Public Viewing will be held prior to the service from 1:00 – 2:00 P.M. Interment will follow the service at the Rheinland Cemetery. Arrangements are entrusted to Funk’s Funeral Home, Rosthern, SK.
