Obituary of Dora Irene Klaassen

January 4, 1928 – October 16, 2016 God called Dora home on Sunday, October 16, 2016 at the age of 88 years. She was born in Laird, Saskatchewan to Johannes and Frieda Klaassen. Dora attended school in Laird. In 1946 she was baptized in Tiefengrund Church. She and her mother moved to Vancouver in 1952, and 10 years later moved to Rosthern where Dora worked at the Mennonite Youth Farm. In 1989, she moved to Bethany Manor in Saskatoon where she resided until her death. Dora was predeceased by her parents, her infant twin brother Willy, sister Hertha Kampen, brother Curt Klaassen and sister Gilda Eby. Dora is lovingly survived by her brother Oscar Klaassen and 14 nephews and nieces. A service celebrating Dora’s life will be held at Bethany Manor, 110 LaRonge Road, Saskatoon on Friday October 21st at 2:00pm. The family would like to thank Bethany Manor for providing a warm, caring home for Dora for 27 years and would also like to recognize her special friend there, Esther Patkau.
