Oh Gerald, we are going to miss you so much, we already do. All the hour+ talks about the history of Duck Lake and the Fisher family. More than that, when you really got honest about your love for Estelle and your family. When you said Estelle was an angel and a saint, when we remembered how you could never do enough for her and how she cooked gourmet recipes for you and how you enjoyed them. Oh yes, we are missing you already, missing your steady whit, your jokes that had us both laughing. You were such an important part of our family, when we would come for a visit and you would take us for a couple of hours drive all around rural Duck Lake and all the back roads of the reserve and then up and down every street of the town all with your inimitable commentary. Yes, you were important and we will never forget you as you took us to Prince Albert for a fish fry at our cousin’s and then home through Shantzi Lake (sic) Yes we will always remember you especially this last while when you attended Mass every day, on TV. We hope now that you had a gentle crossing and now a peaceful rest. All of our love to Estelle and Audrey and Lyle. Bob and Wilma Gossen

My sincerest condolences to you Estelle, Audrey and Lyle. It came as a shock to hear of Gerald’s sudden passing. I did not go to Duck Lake too often but when I did and ran into Gerald he always teased me incessantly as he did when I was a kid and visited Auntie and Uncle. He never left you bored as he shared so many D.L. stories; he loved to make us laugh and to bug his mom and mine because he knew he could get a rise out of them. So many memories to hold dear. He leaves a huge hole in all our hearts but we know that we were blessed to have known him. God’s speed my dear cousin!
