Obituary of Kathleen Lean
April 25, 1928 – July 31, 2014 It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Kathleen (Kay) Cathryn Samletzki Lean on July 31, 2014 at the Rosthern Mennonite Nursing Home, Rosthern SK. Kathleen was born on the family farm, Carlton, Saskatchewan, on April 25th, 1928 to Ben and Leona Samletzki. She leaves to mourn; her husband, Norman Lean; son Terry Penno (Susan Prue); granddaughter, Alannah Penno; sister, Irene Partridge, Saskatoon (survived by and deceased the same day); nephews, Gordon Karaloff, Saskatoon; Warren Purdy, Langley, BC; Cameron Purdy, Calgary; nieces, Jacqueline Purdy-Davis (Alden), Denver, Colorado, Mirruh Karcey (Jeff Langstaff) Annapolis Royal, NS; great -niece; Kristal Karaloff; Edmonton AB; great-great niece, Shyanne; along with many cousins and friends. She was predeceased by her parents, Ben and Leona Samletzki; an infant sister and brother, niece Dana Karaloff and sister Lorraine Ingram; brother-in-law, Jim Partridge; sisters-in-law, Hilma Gibb, Louella Krack and Margaret Lean. Cremation has taken place. A Celebration of Life will take place at 2:30pm, on Thursday, August 7, 2014, at the Rosthern Mennonite Nursing Home, Rosthern SK. Interment will take place at a later date. The family would like to extend a heartfelt Thank-You, to all the staff of the Rosthern Mennonite Home for their excellent care and attention to Kay in her last days.
