Obituary of George Wiebe
January 11, 1950 – October 21, 2020 George was born to Abram J. and Aganetha Wiebe on January 11, 1950. He was baptized on confession of his faith in Jesus Christ in the Reinfeld Bergthaler Mennonite Church near Hague on May 21, 1972. George got married to Annie Penner on July 7, 1973. George and Annie were blessed with 12 children and were married for 47 years. George’s health started failing about 5 years ago. In September of 2019 he was placed in longterm care home and was there till he passed away on October 21, 2020. He is survived by his loving wife Annie; his children, Henry (Tessa) Wiebe, Eva Wiebe, Abe (Becky) Wiebe, Peter (Esther) Wiebe, Elizabeth (Dan) Arcand, Corney (Tracy) Wiebe, Justina (Daniel) Teichroeb, Suzie Wiebe, Isaac (Angelica) Wiebe, Anna (Ryan) Litwin, Katharina Wiebe; 36 grandchildren; 3 sisters, Judy (Peter) Reimer, Katherine (Ben) Klassen, Anna (John) Bergen. He was predeceased by his: one son Jacob; his parents, Abram and Aganetha Wiebe; parents-in-law Henry and Anna Penner; one brother-in-law, two brothers, one sister, and one niece. A viewing for immediate family only, will be held the evening prior to the funeral service. A Funeral Service will be held Tuesday, October 27, 2020 at 2:00 P.M. at Sommerfelder Mennonite Church, east of Hague, SK. Due to covid restrictions, friends can listen to the service on the FM transmitter channel in the parking lot. Public viewing will take place before the funeral service at the church, from 1:15 – 2:00 P.M. Interment will follow at Sommerfelder Cemetery. Special thank you to the doctors, nurses, and all the staff at the Rosthern Mennonite Nursing Home, for the excellent care they gave to George.
