Obituary of Margaret Penner

January 1, 1922 – December 13, 2012 We, the six children of Margaret (Elias) Penner announce her passing on December 13, 2012 at the Mennonite Nursing Home, Rosthern. Mom was born on January 1, 1922 to Peter and Sarah (Dyck) Elias at the place she called ‘The Little House on the Prairies’. She is survived by all of her children: MaryLou (Brian) Weightman, Margaret (Earl) Giesbrecht, Ruth (Terry) Hinz, Judy (Louis) Guigon, Edward Penner (Tina Peters), Alice Penner (Archie Karavidas); eight grandchildren and spouses and twelve great grandchildren; sister Mary Zacharias; brother John (Tina) Elias; sisters-in-law Elizabeth Elias, Emma Penner, Anne Dyck and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, John Penner, her parents, Peter and Sarah Elias; one infant grandson; and many siblings and in-laws. The Funeral Service will be held at the Rosthern Mennonite Church on Tuesday, December 18, 2012 at 10:30 A.M. Interment will take place at Bergthal Church Cemetery, east of Rosthern. Memorial donations may be made to the Canadian Food Grains Bank, Box 767, Winnipeg MB R3C 2L4. Arrangements are in care of Funk’s Funeral Home, Rosthern, SK.
