Obituary of Jesse Senft

July 25, 1929 – August 10, 2012 Our Savior, Jesus Christ, has destroyed death and brought life and immortality to light through the Gospel. Let us remember with thanksgiving what God has done through his servant, Jessie. Jessie Balfour Lamberton was born July 25, 1929 to William and Euphemia Lamberton of Ormiston, SK. In 1949 she publicly confessed her faith, was confirmed, and received the precious gift of the Lord’s life-giving body and blood. On April 18, 1949 she married Bert Senft and, for the next eighteen years, they lived at various Armed Forces bases across Canada and in Marville, France. When Bert retired from the Forces, they lived in Spiritwood, La Ronge, Alsask, Rosthern and Prince Albert. Jessie took all the moves in stride; she loved traveling, meeting new people and she made friends easily. She was blessed with the gift of creating and nourishing a warm, loving and welcoming home wherever God chose to situate them. Anyone that met Jessie could readily see that she was full of fun and loved to socialize. On August 10, 2012, God took Jessie home to rest in the arms of Jesus and await the resurrection of the dead. The Lord gives and the Lord takes away; blessed be the name of the Lord. We give thanks to God our Father through Jesus Christ our Lord for our sister, Jessie. Jessie was predeceased by her husband, Bert, in 2008. She will be lovingly remembered by: her sister, Faye Sidwell; her daughter, Gloria (Bryan) Maier; her son, Jack (Laurie) Senft; grandchildren, Stephen Peters, Stacey (Kevin) Long, Cindy (Rich) Peters, Brandon and Adam Senft; great grandchildren, Rowan Peters, Hudson, Nolan & Stephen Long; step-granddaughters, Janet (Paul) Denis and family, Tricia (Ted) Maier and family, Andrea (Cliff) Caines and family, and Kristie (Scott) Heil and family. Funeral service will be held Wednesday, August 15th, 11:00 a.m. at Redeemer Lutheran Church, Prince Albert with Rev. Richard Mensch officiating. Arrangements are in care of Funk’s Funeral Home, Rosthern.
