Obituary of Nick Humenuik

1933 – 2013 The death of Nick Humenuik, age 79 years of Goodwill Manor Duck Lake, SK and formerly of Rosthern occurred May 17, 2013 at Rosthern Hospital. Nick was born on the family farm in the Adamiwka district. He attended Adamiwka School and farmed in the area. In 1989 Nick moved to Rosthern where he worked prior to retirement. He was a member of the Holy Spirit Catholic (Farm) Church. Nick enjoyed cooking and visiting with friends and family. He was predeceased by his parents, Joseph and Justina (nee Hnatiw) Humenuik, infant brother Billy, sister Mary (Peter H.) Huchkowsky, brothers William, Mike, Dmytro and brother-in-law Mike Murphy. Nick will be lovingly remembered by and greatly missed by: sister Annette Murphy, Thunder Bay, ON; sister Pauline Salahub, Rosthern, SK; and sister-in-law Rose Humenuik, Rosthern, SK; numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews. The family would like to express our heartfelt gratitude to the staff of Goodwill Manor Nursing Home in Duck Lake, SK and Rosthern Hospital, Rosthern and District Ambulance for the kind compassionate care. In memory of Nick, memorial donations may be made to a charity of your choice. A Prayer Service will be held on Tuesday, May 21, 2013 at 7:30 P.M. The Funeral Liturgy will be celebrated by Rev. Fr. Mykola Romanets on Wednesday, May 22, 2013 at 10:30 A.M. Both services will take place at Sts. Peter and Paul Ukrainian Catholic Church, Rosthern, SK.
