Dear Don and family, So sorry to hear of Marion’s passing. We wish we could be at her service today but due to work commitments, are unable to attend. We have fond memories of our visits with you and Marion in Prince George. I still use an icing recipe of Marion’s from time to time. May you find comfort and solace in knowing that you will see her again in glory some day. With love and prayers, Edith (and Brian) Beveridge

My condolences go out to all of you, Don, Steph, Jeff, Lyndon, Tobias and Kajsa. Marion was a wonderful person. When I was a kid and a teenager I was always so excited to see your family walking through our front door. Marion was a whirlwind of activity and conversation which we all loved. I remember one time we had a couple of hours to kill before my parents got home from work and Marion said, “let’s bake something” and proceeded to direct the baking of several different batches of cookies and squares and even got supper ready. It was awesome.

Don,Stefanie,Lyndon and Families. It is with deep sadness (and also guilt) that I write to express our families sincere sympathy over the loss of your dear wife , mother and grandmother. I was reacquainted with Marion and met Stefanie just days before Marion’s passing when the two of you so lovingly visited Lois’ bedside at RUH during her final days to show your concern and to help bring comfort to all of us there. I feel guilt because Lois’ brother Lee has now returned to BC and I will be in Toronto due to plans and commitments made weeks ago – and no one representing Lois’ family is able to attend Marion’s Celebration Service in person. Please know however , that our thoughts and prayers are with you all nonetheless and I hope and pray you find peace and comfort from all those around you just as we did from all of you in our “sad” time. Marion was a very special person to many . Often serving others it seems. I think her and my sister Lois shared a lot of the same character traits. Im sure she was not only a big sister to Dave but to Lois as well. Hugs from us ALL! Gary and Shelley Hoium , Lee Hoium and our families

Very sorry to hear of Marions passing. Marion and I did many banquets together. She also was so good with my children who were little at the time, keeping them busy while we cooked many a feast. She absolutely ran circles around me. I still have and use some of her MCC sewing projects that she made for sale to raise money for that years cause. Marion definitely had an organizational gift and was very practical. I will miss her. May God Grant you peace during this difficult time.

Dear Don and family, “When we are being creative, we are reflecting the image of God, our creator.” I feel so blessed to have spent so many hours creating with Marion at The Wood ‘N Needle. The ladies all enjoyed and have great memories of the days that Marion volunteered. We laughed, sang, danced and sometimes cried together. Marion taught us that no mistake we made was too big to fix! May God comfort you with his love. Sincerely Bonnie Ratzlaff

Doreen Rail Hello Don, Stefanie, Lyndon, Tobias, and Kasja. My condolences on the loss of Marion. I hold Marion in my memory as a most caring friend and person, always ready to help someone in need. She has the gift of being able to take charge in diverse situations and to organize solutions. Organize in every sense of the word. When she and Don helped us move to Vernon, She had the rental truck packed to within an inch of space. Yes….we did it in one trip as she had determined we could :). She not only helped us, but showed by her wonderful example how to give forward. Thank you, Marion. The effects of your life will live on. God bless and keep you all. Doreen

Don and family. We are so very saddened to hear of your beloved wife and mom passing away. We will always fondly remember her taking us under her wing when we were just 2 kids starting our lives together. She single handedly made sure we had beautiful flowers for our wedding that we could not afford, made sure the goose poop was raked up before our guests arrived and she was the one who fluffed my dress before I walked the isle. When our children came along she had us over for dinner countless times and assured us we were doing a great job of parenting when we had no idea what we were doing. She sent us home with home made buns and jam and countless other treats. This world will not be the same without this true angel. Grieve freely and know of the lives she touched.

Marion will be be missed more than you can imagine at the clothes basket. The merchandising she did for us is going to be hard to replace. What she got done in one day was amazing. Her voice as a board member will be missed, she was never afraid to speak out. She leaves us at the clothes basket with good memories. WHAT A GREAT VOLUNTEER SHE WAS.

SO sorry Don and family about your loss, and it’s a huge one, Marion will always be remembered as such a “go getter” and enthusiastic worker and our girls had such an incredibly wonderful time at your B&B two summers ago, and cherish the memory… With love , Ruth and Walt Thielmann

When we met Don & Marion we were so overwhelmed by their friendship, hospitality and the many projects Marion had lined up to sew for the children of Africa. Dear God how could you take her home, who will now continue on her work? She is the lucky one to be in heaven but such a large hole she leaves behind. May God be your comforter.
