Obituary of Jacob Driediger
February 20, 1928 – February 11, 2019 It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Jake Driediger on February 11, 2019. He died in Pineview Manor at the Mennonite Nursing Home in Rosthern. Jake was born February 20, 1928 and lived all his life in Drake Sk. before moving to Pineview Manor for the last 4 ½ years. He was a busy farmer but also gave much time and dedication to church work at North Star Mennonite and within the larger church community. Jake was a strong Christian and tried diligently to follow Christ’s example in word and deed. He was devoted to his family and was very supportive in the lives of his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Jake leaves to mourn his wife of 70 years Sue and their five children: Carrie (Ron) McDonald, Ric (Theresa) Driediger, Merry (Andrew) MacMath, Pat (Peter) Hoemsen, Gayle (Herman) Warkentin, 13 grandchildren and their spouses and 10 great-grandchildren; siblings George (Dorothy) Driediger, Arthur Driediger, Walter Driediger and siblings-in-law Peter (Irma) Bergen, Arnold (Vivian) Neufeldt, John (Martha) Bergen and Laura (Alden) Entz. He was predeceased by his parents Aron and Anna Driediger, his infant brother Gerhard, his sisters Anne and Nellie, and his brother Rudy. The funeral will take place on Friday, February 15, 2019 at Mennonite Nursing Home auditorium, Rosthern, SK at 2:00 pm. A memorial lunch will be held at North Star Mennonite Church in Drake on Saturday, February 16 at 2:30pm. The public is welcome to both gatherings. The family is grateful to the staff at Pineview and the Mennonite Nursing Home for their care and consideration of Jake during these past four years.
