Obituary of Peter Hiebert

May 19, 1932 – January 7, 2014 With sadness we announce the passing of Peter Hiebert. Peter leaves to mourn his son, Paul Hiebert; his siblings and in-laws, Mary Giesbrecht, Tena Janzen, John (Dawn) Hiebert, Helen (Peter) Rempel, Marge (Fehr) Hiebert, Elsie (Bill) Siemens, Henry Hiebert, Dora (Ron) Adrian, Nora (Peter) Fehr. Peter was predeceased by Helen (Klassen) his first wife of 36 years and their three children, Erwin, Ruth and Alden; parents, Jacob (Katherina) Hiebert; sister, Martha (Henry) Redekopp; brother Cornie Hiebert; and brother-in-law Jacob Giesbrecht. Also mourning his loss are his second wife Anne (Fehr, Klassen) Hiebert and her family. Peter had many friends. Peter and Paul participated in prison visitation and were involved in Gideons and numerous missions. Peter farmed the family farm for many years. This farm hosted and continues to host an annual Food Grains Bank Sale and the farm is currently owned by Peter’s great nephew. The Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, January 11, 2014 at 10:30 A.M. at the Bergthaler Mennonite Church, Warman, SK. Interment will take place at Gruenthal Bergthaler Cemetery. A Visitation will be held on Friday, January 10 from 7 – 9pm at Funk’s Funeral Chapel, Rosthern. Memorial donations may be made to Gideons International or a charity of your choice.
