Obituary of Servais Rahier

April 13, 1940 – March 3, 2015 Servais George Rahier passed away peacefully in the early hours of March 3, 2015 at the Royal University Hospital in Saskatoon, Sk. Servais was born on April 13, 1940 at Rosthern Union Hospital to George and Anna Rahier. Servais grew up on a farm just north of Rosthern, SK., where he discovered his career choice and passion for animals and farming. As a young man, Servais met the love of his life Irene Anne Wintonyk. Servais and Irene were married on June 2, 1962, and made their home on the farm in Rosthern. Once married, they built their farm starting with a small herd of Ayrshire cows. The union was blessed with two beautiful children; their son Blaine and daughter Monique. After the children were born, Servais and Irene expanded the dairy farm which allowed Servais to fulfill his dream of owning Arabian horses. Servais had many passions in his life which included farming, travelling, many stops at his favorite restaurants, Mother Nature, working around the yard, and following his grandchildren to whatever event they were participating in no matter where it was. The biggest love in his life was his family. He will be greatly missed by his loving wife Irene, their two children; son Blaine (Sylvia) Rahier and daughter Monique Neufeld (Kerrigan Rempel); and his beloved grandchildren Devin (Stephanie), Kirsten, Lauren, Brandon, Michelle, Kyle, Jordan, and Dalton; mother Anna Rahier, sisters Irma Lehmann, Hilda (Gerry) Segger, Rosella (Jim) Tucker, Selma Townsend; brothers Gilles (Doreen) Rahier, Joe (Delores) Rahier, Garry (Connie) Rahier; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his father George Rahier and sister Valentine Taylor. A Prayer Service will be held Friday March 6, 2015 at 7:30 P.M. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Rev. Phinh Do on Saturday, March 7, 2015 at 10:30 A.M. Both services will be held at St. Odilon Roman Catholic Church, Rosthern, SK. Interment will take place at Rosthern Cemetery.
