Agnes Jeschke

Obituary of Agnes Jeschke

November 8, 1927 – January 30, 2021 93 Years Agnes Nettie (Veer) Jeschke was born November 8, 1927, one of four children and the only daughter of William and Aganeta Veer. She attended Schmidtsburg School and told many stories of her time there. In 1948, she went to Bethany Bible Institute and that is where she met dad – Roland Jeschke. They were married May 31, 1951 and spent 67 years together before dad passed. They had three sons Ken, Dennis, and Warren. She became a Christian early in life and was baptized and became a member of Hepburn MB Church. Her faith was very important to her – she lived that out in her hospitality enjoyed by many. It would be hard to find someone who wasn’t touched by her in some way – food from her massive garden, tea and cookies, meat buns and jello, hotdogs by the firepit, a generous hug, holding hands, and even the jacket or shirt right off her back. As long as there was a chance to be together, she made it happen. She had a huge love of music and started lessons on a pump organ and then moved to the piano. She took the train and other modes of transportation to Saskatoon where she studied piano with Lyle Gustin. She taught piano lessons for pretty much her whole life –in Hague, in Warman, at Bethany Bible Institute, and from her home. She was very involved in church as a pianist and organist. She played for a Ladies Trio, Men’s Quartet and then the Jeschke Trio. She continued to play until very recently. She had a green thumb. Anything she planted, grew! There will be lilies from her garden popping up all over the place in Hepburn and beyond come spring to remind us of her and her love. Mom and Dad moved to the Mennonite Nursing Home in Rosthern in Pineview Manor in 2014 and she was living at Sunrise Place in the Mennonite Nursing Home until she passed away on Saturday, January 30, 2021. Left to remember her are her sons, Ken (Joanne) Jeschke, Dennis (Lill) Jeschke, Warren (Lori) Jeschke; grandchildren, Scott (Heather) Jeschke, Kurt (Geralyn) Jeschke, Michelle (Darren) Huebert, Erin (JB) Crocker, Tahra (Jon) Drebert, Jordon (Kristen) Jeschke, and Joel Jeschke (Stephanie Urquhart); great grandchildren, Ava and Lily Jeschke, Nora and Sam Jeschke, Keegan, Ryann and Tavis Crocker, Renae, Jacob, and Elijah Drebert; sister-in-law Jean Veer; brother-in-law Marlin Jeschke; and sister-in-law Rosalee Jeschke. Agnes was predeceased by her husband Roland; parents William and Aganeta Veer; brothers Henry and Bill and their spouses; and younger brother John. A Memorial Service will be held at a later date. Arrangements entrusted to Funk’s Funeral Home.
