Grant was such a friendly guy! Always a smile and a laugh! Had so much fun curling with him one winter. One game he put on 2 different shoes, and cracked up the whole team! We gave each other Gilligan’s Island nicknames, and he was our “Gilligan”! My sympathy to Dee and her family. “Ginger”

Hello Dee and Jessica. This is Grant’s cousin Barbie. My memories of Grant: always kind and never without a humorous touch. I am so sorry for your loss. He was so in love with his 2 girls. You will miss him so. I was so touched that he made the trip to our mumma’s funeral. Take care of yourselves and each other during these trying times. God Bless.

It is so hard to put into words how much a beloved person is missed when they are no longer with us. There will be an empty space at our next family reunion. But as a favourite author of mine said, a person is never really gone as long as someone speaks their name. And we will be speaking Grant’s name often as we reminisce, smile and laugh, remembering this kind, loving and fun to be with man who we were lucky to have in our family. We are sending love and hugs to Dee, Jessica and Kevin, may you be consoled by the knowledge of how much Grant was loved and how much we love you.

My sincere condolences to Dee, Jessica and their families upon the loss of their beloved husband, father and uncle. I was very startled by the news that Grant was so seriously ill and even more so upon hearing that he had passed so quickly. My heart goes out to you all of you. I’m so glad that I had the chance to meet him and enjoy his company as our children married in 2018. What a beautiful day that was. Glad to have lots of lovely pictures to remind us of that special occasion. My heart is very saddened for everyone.

His smile was always there and heart was always full of love and happiness. Knowing Grant was one of the greatest thing’s to happen to me. He was always so kind and thoughtful. Who always called me Co’s and we both knew why. I will miss him everyday and will see him again. His loving wife and loving daughter meant everything to him, I know they we miss him everyday but I know that both have so many great memories, just like me. That smile is what helps me remember what a neat man Grant became. He always made you feel like he was interested in you and your life. I am sure he was very well thought of by everyone of his clients that he dealt with as a social worker. What a perfect career for a guy with Grants warm and loving personality. He will be welcomed with many open arms up there. I loved reading the best written obituary I have ever read. Lanis and I extend our heart felt condolences to the whole Hopley family. He will be missed by many.
