When his Father died, he was still very young, looking for support, and, because the family lived in a house close to our home,
we became buddies. Then, their family moved back to Rosthern, and we lost touch for a while.
I admired his later success as a Junior Hockey player. His long stride gave him an advantage as a fast mover on the ice. I believe that he and his cousin, Jim Dyck played for the same team at the same time...memory fails me at times.
When Wally worked at selling hearing aids, I would see him more often.
As with his sisters, I will miss him, and his jokes. Since I was not allowed to drive on the highways, we, again lost touch during
the past five years except for the family gatherings at the Youth Farm log cabin.
Rest in Peace, Wally!
