Though I am six weeks late in learning about Peter’s death, I want to send my condolences to his family. I was at RJC with him; we were not in the same grade but we were on the same hockey team. That was enough to leave me with wonderful memories about kind of person he was. He was fun, hard working, straight-forward, and never snobbish, etc. I happened to meet him in Rosthern around 2014. He was the same great human being he’d always been. I’m thankful that he was part of my life. Bill Janzen, Ottawa, ON

My heartfelt sympathy to Richard, Cory, Ryan, & Jay & families, as well as siblings of Peter. I am so grateful that I was able to watch the funeral and celebration of Peter’s life this morning. What a lovely service in his honour. Great stories, Ryan. I would like to share the story about the occasion of the planting of memory trees in Peter and Jean’s lovely orchard in memory of Betty Mae, Martin, Larry and Brock. Now their names will be added to the precious family members that we will cherish. They were proud to plant these trees on their land that had previously been owned by Peter’s father and grandfather, and now carried on to the the next generation with Ryan. What a legacy. I will miss Peter. His friendly jovial nature and storytelling skills are etched in my memory. Wishing you peace and comfort as you continue on. Doreen Janzen

Arnold Dyck We send our condolences to the whole Janzen family. Peter loved life, and could always come up with something to say or do in any situation. He could make a joke and see the light side of life. His love of sports was especially noteworthy and commendable. He had a big heart for others; I still remember that he and George made the long trip from Rosthern to Penticton, B.C., in 1992 to attend Betty Mae’s funeral. We will remember him.
