March 24, 1958 - November 15, 2024
66 Years
It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Timothy Gerald Harrington after a brief battle with pancreatic cancer.
Tim left us on November 15, 2024, at the age of 66 years. Born in Edmonton on March 24, 1958, most of his growing up was done in Calgary, but not before making a monumental pit stop as the first baby boy in Swan Hills, Alberta.
In high school, he enjoyed competitive swimming and football. Dabbling in the workforce as a farmhand, a bouncer, and a big rig operator, to name a few, he ended up in the HVAC industry, starting as a tin basher and then spending the rest of his adult life as a commercial HVAC estimator. He also briefly owned and operated ADT Grocery with his wife and daughter. He eventually retired to his daughter and son-in-law's acreage near Laird, Saskatchewan, where he loved spoiling his “grand” animals and puttering around on his golf cart.
Always affable, he could make friends anywhere and enjoyed making other people laugh with his quick wit and colourful sense of humour. He loved reading, camping, music, playing guitar, woodworking, fishing, and yard work.
Tim is survived by his daughter Amanda and her husband, Byron Irwin; his sisters Wendy Niemetz, Shauna Kenworthy and Cathy Harrington (Trent Tosczak); plus many nieces and nephews who all loved their Uncle Tim.
He was preceded in death by his wife and soulmate, Donna; his parents, Robert and Carol Harrington; and his sister, Erin Harrington.
A Celebration of his Life will be held later, during which family and friends will gather to honour his memory and lasting impact on their lives.
Tim will be deeply missed but forever remembered for the love, kindness,
and joy he brought to all those around him.
In lieu of flowers, please donate to an animal shelter of your choice.
