In Loving Memory of
Louise McAlister
March 14, 1938 ~ August 31, 2019
Age – 81 years
McAlister, (Lillian) Louise nee Crowe passed peacefully in her sleep at the Rosthern Mennonite Nursing Home, where she had been receiving loving care for 4 years. Louise was born in Ardill, Sask and moved to Eston, during her teen years where she met her future husband Tom. Tom and Louise moved to Rosthern in 1972, when Tom started teaching at the Rosthern Elementary School.
She is survived by Tom, her loving husband of 63 years, daughter Tracy (Harvey) Brooks, and grandchildren Heather (Michael), Erin (Nelson) and Logan (Dania) and son Troy and grandchildren Jessica and Joshua as well as 6 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by brothers Dennis (Jane), Wayne (Pearl), Ken, and sisters Norma, Marjorie and Beverly, and brother in law Grant (Dianne).
In keeping with her wishes, there will be no funeral service. Interment will take place at Eston Cemetery at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family would ask that a donation be made to a charity of your choice.
Arrangements are entrusted to Funk’s Funeral Home, Rosthern, SK (306) 232-5245 (www.funksfuneralhome.ca)
My condolences to Tom and family. I didn’t know Louise well, but they were kind to my parents Hank and Linda Riekman. Louise graciously offered to look after my two
Small children ( ages 3 years and two months ) during the funeral service of my special aunt Eileen Dueck. I was always grateful for her compassion and thoughtfulness. While I only met her a few times , I will never forget her beautiful smile and laugh.
May you find peace in treasured memories of Louise.
Deepest sympathies Tom.We are thinking of you at this sad time .
