Frank Derksen, age 97, died peacefully at Goodwill Manor Care Home, Duck Lake on Saturday, September 12, 2015, following a 2 month stay in the Rosthern Hospital. Frank was born in Osterwick, South Russia. He immigrated to Canada at age 5. Frank was well known and respected in Rosthern and the larger community, where he owned and operated Rosthern Agencies, until age 72. He was actively involved in the church and community. He will be missed by his family: son, Bob (Beverly Harding) and children, Alexa, Robyn; daughter, Judy (Jim) Wiens and children, Nicole, Julia, Ian, Patrick; son, Ron (Lavonne) and children, Heidi, Levi, Joshua, Jesse, Micah, Andrew; siblings Helen (John) Bartsch, Jake Derksen, Dave (Justina) Derksen; and sisters-in-law Linda Derksen, and Lydia Klassen. He was predeceased by his wife, Mary Derksen (2011); parents Franz and Helena Derksen; brother Peter Derksen; and sister-in-law, Agatha Derksen. Family and friends are invited to a time of viewing at Funk’s Funeral Chapel, Rosthern on Saturday, September 19, 2015 at 7:00 P.M. The Funeral Service will be held at Rosthern Mennonite Church, Rosthern, SK on Sunday, September 20, 2015 at 1:30 pm. Interment to follow at the Rosthern Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to the Youth Farm Bible Camp, Box 636, Rosthern, SK S0K 3R0 and/or Sask Valley Hospital Foundation Inc., Box 93 Rosthern, SK S0K 3R0.
