October 25, 1916 – May 15, 2015
It is with sadness, the family of Amanda Elizabeth (Nikkel) Fischer announce her passing at the age of 98 years. She grew up in the Laird area, married Arnold Fischer and they farmed north east of Laird, where they raised their children. They sold the farm in 1973, and built a home in Waldheim, where they both worked for several years before retiring. She was very involved in her church, both in Laird and Waldheim. Following Arnold’s passing she remained in Waldheim, moving to Pineview Manor in Rosthern when she was 95, residing there until March of this year, when her health failed and she went to the Nursing Home. She is survived by sons Elmer, Gary (Shirley) and Edward (Susan), daughters Ruby (Ross) and Edna, 8 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild, and their families. A Memorial Service will be held at the Waldheim Mennonite Brethren Church, Waldheim, SK, at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, May 21, 2015. Arrangements are in care of Funk’s Funeral Home, Rosthern, SK, (306-232-5245, http://www.funksfuneralhome.ca).

I am so sorry to hear of your mom’s passing. I’m so happy I saw and visited with her last summer. Marina and I were wondering if any of her sisters are still living? The best to you and your families.
I am sorry to hear of ur mom’s passing. I loved your mom dearly.I adopted her when my mom passed. She was one of the sweetest ladies I ever met. She is where she wanted to be. You were all very lucky to have her as your mama.
