John Hiebert, age 71, of Laird, went home to be with his Lord and Savior, on Wednesday, September 23rd, 2020, after a brief battle with cancer. He leaves to mourn his passing, Gladys, the mother of his children: Melanie (Ryan), Leon (Heather), Ivy, Mitchell and Steven (Brandy); 11 grandchildren, and 1 great grandchild, brothers Cornie (Joyce), Jim (Heather) and sister Ann (Bob) Janzen. He was predeceased by his parents Cornie and Lena Hiebert, sisters Helen Liese, Susan Dyck, one sister in infancy, and brother-in-law Frank Dyck. John spent many years in the auto body business and for the last 15 years was employed with Menno Homes of Sask./Christian Horizons, as a caregiver.
John had a strong faith in the Lord. He was deeply loved by his family and we miss him dearly, but we take comfort in the assurance that we will meet him again.
“Therefore, you now have sorrow; but I will see you again and your heart will rejoice, and your joy no one will take from you”. John 16:22 NKJV
